Description
Visconti Divina Elegance
A writing instrument that changes the traditional design rules of pen-making. The Divina collection was inspired by three distinctive elements: the Golden Ratio, the Pentagon and the Nautilus. In the Divina pen, the cap and barrel have perfect golden ratio proportions, revealing an ergonomically adjusted pentagon shape: the four elements generate a fifth supernatural element, embodying a nearly divine essence. Solid 925 sterling silver or bronze spirals harmoniously wrap a resin and mother of pearl body following the Fibonacci Nautilus shell sequence to create the quintessence of elegance: a modern icon, with an eternal, timeless feel.
DIVINA ELEGANCE COLLECTION
This writing instrument plays with the classical aesthetic standards and elevates them. It is inspired by the four natural elements from which a fifth supernatural one emerges. The pen’s pentagonal shape recalls these five elements.
SILVER INLAYS
The Divina Elegance collection stands out in great part due to its silver inlays. Constructing the pen is a long and lengthy process because each silver appointment has to be inserted manually, one at a time. Though the process is arduous, it transforms the Divina Elegance writing instrument into a unique and refined jewel. Every pen has 10 silver inlays.
By the end of the process, should but one be defective, hours of work are lost since the pen is no longer salvageable.
THE GOLDEN RATIO, THE NAUTILUS AND PENTAGRAM
The Divina Elegance collection takes its inspiration and shape from three fundamental elements: the golden ratio, the nautilus and the pentagram.
The relationship between the length of the cap and pen (both capped and uncapped) follow the golden ratio. The pen’s structure is built according to a Fibonacci nautilus while its shape, though slightly adapted for ergonomic reasons, resembles a pentagram.
MATERIALS
We have chosen acrylic resin to make the Divina Elegance rollerball pen. This material lends itself well to interesting effects such as pearlescent highlights. The anti-tarnish silver alloy preserves the metal parts of the pen from oxidation.
THE EXSICCATION PROCESS
Once the silver inlays have been inserted in the pen’s body and cap, the different parts of the writing instrument are exsiccated at a low temperature for 48 hours.
At the end of the process, the parts have to be checked once more, retouched if necessary and then polished.
DIVINA ELEGANCE FOUNTAIN PEN
This writing instrument elevates and subtly mutates the classical aesthetics of fountain pens. The Divina Elegance collection is inspired by three fundamental elements: the golden ratio, the nautilus and the pentagram.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
The creation of the Divina Elegance fountain pen is a time consuming process that requires a lot of experience and skill.
Our master artisans start by creating the resin body of the pen with computer numerical control machines. Grooves are added with a special tool which are then manually filled with silver inlays. After a 48 hour exsiccation process, the writing instrument is checked once more my the CNC machine and polished.
DIVINA ELEGANCE ROLLERBALL PEN
Divina Elegance was designed following the Fibonacci sequence. The curving facets of the pen are made in resin inlaid with strands of silver or bronze. This timeless writing instrument is the quintessence of elegance.
DIVINA ELEGANCE BALLPOINT PENFrom nature to the sublime. This ballpoint pen’s design follows the proportions of the golden ratio which makes it on an aura of the divine.
CLIP, CLOSURE SYSTEM AND FINISHINGS
The Divina Elegance ballpoint pen is adorned with the classic Visconti arched clip and closes with a twist mechanism.
The silver inlays are inserted manually one by one while the metal finishes are made of palladium.
